Black Lake is well known for its panfish, especially black crappie. Bluegill and yellow perch also provide excellent opportunities with fish upwards of 10-12" common. Panfish are targeted year around. Largemouth and smallmouth bass provide some great angling with fish 3-5 pounds commonly caught. Ample walleye and northern pike are available to round out the primary sportfish.

Get Your license and gear
Be sure your fishing license is up to date with a visit to the Morristown Town Clerk's office, open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Or, visit one of our local bait shops on County Route 6. You can also get your license ONLINE. The bright orange license stock (Valeron) is being phased out by the State of NY, so print it at home or carry an image of your license on your phone.
Chapman's Sport Shop Chapmans, located on County Route 6 between Edwardsville and Hammond is open year-round. You'll find a huge selection of fishing equipment and tackle, boats for sale and help boat storage.
Log Cabin Store has one of the largest selections of fishing gear in the area with bait, tackle, rods, custom T-shirts, sweatshirts, gifts, souvenirs and more. You can also rent a pontoon for the day.

Launch your boat
Morristown Bay Boat Launch: Located on the bay in Morristown, the boat launch has a long history of serving boaters and visitors. From 1908 - 1952, the Morristown and Brockville Ferry carried visitors and their automobiles across the St. Lawrence. Today, the ample parking lot is filled with the trucks and trailers owned by bass fishermen and weekend boaters.
Black Lake Boat Launch: The Black Lake Boat Launch is located on County Route 6 west of Edwardsville.
