Red Barn Preserve: Operated by The Morristown Gateway Museum, the Red Barn Preserve is a 160-acre nature preserve and wetlands with several trails skirting ponds and the Blue Heron Rookery. It is open to the public year-round from dawn to dusk. TheTrailhead is at the Red Barn at 515 Riverview Street.

Jacques Cartier State Park: Located minutes from Main Street in Morristown, Jacques Cartier offers several well-tended trails for hiking, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing, plus camping, swimming, and more.

MacSherry Trails: Located off Rt. 12 near Hammond, this 2.6 mile loop is moderately challenging and great for birding, cross-country skiing, and fishing.
Lampson Falls: The Lampson Falls Trail, about 30 minutes south of Morristown in Clare, NY, offers easy access to one of the most popular waterfalls in St. Lawrence County. The falls drop 100 feet over a smooth rock face into a large, swirling pool at the bottom. From the trailhead on NY-27, the trail extends for 0.5 miles along a wide and flat path to the top of the falls. Though unpaved, this first section of the trail accommodates wheelchairs. |
Wellesley Island State Park offers miles of hiking on 14 separate trails. Trails range from difficult to flat and open. One is wheel chair accessible. Most are loops.
